MS Independence of the Seas Cruise Ship Wallpaper 4

Independence of the Seas (Wallpaper 4). Independence of the Seas cruise ship images wallpaper gallery 4. Independence of the Seas cruise ship photos and pictures wallpaper collection 4. Independence is one of three sisters, each dubbed the largest cruise ship in the world, but they will be dwarfed by Royal Caribbean’s 220,000-tonne Genesis, launching next year with room for 5,200 passengers. At the end of last week I was in a shipyard in St Nazaire, France, to watch the keel being laid for the first of two new 150,000-tonne ships, codenamed F3, being built for Norwegian Cruise Line which will each hold 4,200 passengers. This month alone, there have been three new ships named in the UK. Between them, they will hold more than 10,000 people, and there are five more vessels due to launch before the year is out. That’s a lot of berths to fill, and yet there is no sign of panic at the top. Independence of the Seas (Wallpaper 4). Independence of the Seas cruise ship images wallpaper gallery 4. Independence of the Seas cruise ship photos and pictures wallpaper collection 4. Whenever I question whether there is demand for all these big ships, I’m told that a holiday is no longer a luxury, it’s a necessity. I am also told that the number of people cruising has grown every year for more than a decade – the inference being that therefore it will continue to grow - and that retired people with savings, who still make up the biggest chunk of the market, are less affected by the crunch. Really? It’s true that they might not have mortgages but these people still have to buy butter and eggs; many, I’m sure, have cars and use electric or gas to cook. One response was more pragmatic: “We are building these ships; we have to fill them”. Before you start to dream of discounts, I should add that David Dingle, chief executive of Carnival UK, has said that there’s no sign of a crunch in terms of bookings or prices, although he does concede that the amount that passengers spend on board might suffer on the cheaper lines if people start looking after their pennies. But back to Independence, which might be the third in a series – its two sisters launched last year and the year before that – but its sheer size was startling as it towered over Southampton. “After Ventura [P&O Cruises’ new ship, launched April 16], it’s really 'wow',” one couple said. It is certainly more flashy than Ventura – although actually relatively tame compared with the likes of Carnival and Norwegian Cruise Line – and the FlowRider surf wave, ice-skating rink, rock-climbing wall and Royal Promenade are all impressive. It’s just a shame that we’ve seen it all before, several times now. The only thing that makes this ship different from its two sisters is the art work, some of which is notable for all the wrong reasons (look out for the spooky Shakespeare with the moving eyes at the entrance to the Romeo and Juliet dining room), and the heated pools, added in anticipation of another lousy summer in the UK. It’s a shame that they didn’t also put a roof that can be opened and shut over the solarium pool so there is somewhere “outside” to sit when it rains. This is England, after all. Not long returned from 3 night cruise on the independence of the seas. This was our first time, which is why we only did a short one. We loved it so much we wished we'd gone on to Ireland where the ship was going next. The ship was spotlessly clean and because there had been an outbreak of the norovirus a few weeks previous, hand washing was paramount, with the staff at the entrance to the dining rooms with wipes. There were even people saying they had just washed their hands! Food was absolutely wonderful catering for every taste. we didn't realise that the shops were closed while the ship was in port, and when they were open, there was a mad rush being served by very slow staff! Perhaps the drinks were a little more expensive but we were on holiday after all. The staff were always impeccably dressed, and very willing to please. There was a kettle and tea bags etc. in the cabin and shampoo on the wall in the shower. Huge ship and we still got lost on the last day - had to ask the grandchildren who were staying in another cabin! Would we go again? Independence of the Seas (Wallpaper 2). Independence of the Seas cruise ship images wallpaper gallery 2. Independence of the Seas cruise ship photos and pictures wallpaper collection 2. yes we would go next week, but can't afford it till we do a meditteranean cruise next year. Hope this helps. We have just returned from a fantastic cruise on the Independence of The Seas. The 6 adults in our party thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and there was plenty to do for the 2 grandchildren. Four of us, adults, had never been on a cruise before and initially i wasn't interested as i thought i would be bored and feel enclosed in. However my views on cruising have changed entirely. We found all the crew to be polite and helpful. The quality, choice and quantity of food to be amazing. One could eat 24. Left Southampton on the 26th January and check in was very smooth as had completed check in on line, so all they had to do was check printed cards and issue me my sea pass. Boarded the ship and went to our inside cabin on deck 7 front. room was neatly laid out with all the necessary paperwork about the ship available. went for some tea in the windjammer whilst awaiting for our luggage, 5 cases. a quick walk around the ship to see what she is like and what. Ship was fantastic, and selection of entertainment was great. The things that let the whole trip down was that we has to miss the best Port of call due to very rough seas, but looking at other reviews this time of the year this is the norm. Why then do this on the itenary, why not choose it on the way back. The other Ports of call we average, Lanzerote on a Sunday when everything is closed down bad planning! Ang Vigo arrive at 11am they are 1 hour ahead so only 1.5hrs to visits shops, very short. Independence of the Seas (Wallpaper 2). Independence of the Seas cruise ship images wallpaper gallery 2. Independence of the Seas (Wallpaper 1). Independence of the Seas cruise ship images wallpaper gallery 1. Independence of the Seas cruise ship photos and pictures wallpaper collection 1. MS Independence of the Seas is a Freedom-class cruise ship operated by the Royal Caribbean cruise line that entered service in April 2008. The 15-deck ship can accommodate 4,370 passengers served by 1,360 crew. She was built in the Aker Finnyards drydock in Turku, Finland, builder of Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas, her sister ships of the Freedom class. At 154,407 gross tons,[4] she joined Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas as the largest cruise ships and passenger vessels ever built (at the time of construction). She is 1,112 feet (339 m) long, and typically cruises at 21.6 knots (40.0 km/h; 24.9 mph). The vessel operates from Southampton, England,[2] all year round on European itineraries starting April 2010. Independence of the Seas is the third of the Freedom-class vessel. In October 2009, Oasis of the Seas, the first ship in the Oasis-class displaced the Freedom-class as the world's largest passenger ships. Independence of the Seas (Wallpaper 1). Since the ship's launch she sailed from Southampton, England in the Summer months and from Fort Lauderdale in the Winter months. From 2010 Independence of the Seas will sail from Southampton, England all year round.Like the other Freedom-class vessels, Independence of the Seas features an interactive water park, the H2O Zone, a dedicated sports pool for volleyball and basketball, and whirlpools which extend from the ship's sides. It houses an internal shopping 'street', the Promenade lined with shops, pubs and wine bars, with a "bridge" which can be lowered from the ceiling void to provide a performance space above the crowds. There is also the three story Alhambra theatre, seating 1,200, and a complete conference centre. The show cabaret lounge is based on an ancient Egyptian theme, known as the Pyramid Lounge. On a lower level is an ice skating rink named Studio B, home to a series of professional ice shows, and is also available for personal skating. This facility was first featured on the Voyager-class and the rink on Independence of the Seas is the eighth to feature this on a ship. The ship also features a range of eating outlets, a rock climbing wall, wi-Fi and mobile phone connectivity throughout, and flat screen televisions in all staterooms. Independence of the Seas is also the first Royal Caribbean ship to feature heated, fresh water pools. On the Sports Deck, there is a rock climbing wall, a basketball/hockey court, a mini golf course, and a FlowRider for surfing. It also has 2 seating areas around the FlowRider to allow people to watch. Independence of the Seas (Wallpaper 1). Independence of the Seas cruise ship images wallpaper gallery 1.
